I have several Ushankas in my collection And all are very good Quality and very warm. Real fur is better looking but fake fur of (fish fur) hats are just as warm. I do a lot of hunting and always bring This hat with me. These hats also come in handy here in Buffalo's famous winters. My job puts me outside at all times even in the winter. Even when it's about -15 or so with wind chill this hat would often be to warm and I'd have to take it off! My favorite one is a blueish gray soviet era fish fur ushanka made in 1987. I Put a Hammer and sickle with gold leaf border pin on it to spice it up a little. Flaps are nice but I'll say this, in Russia flaps down = Sissy so I only put them down when it's vary cold and windy. If you live in a cold climate and want the best in head protection from the elements around this hat is it.
